OpenSlug NAS

I recently got myself one of these.
I flashed it with OpenSlug 3.10, and I'm doing the following with it:
  • Sharing a 250 GB drive with samba.
  • Sharing a printer (Samsung ML-1740) with cups
  • Torrent box with transmission and dtach
  • NTP server with the listen option in the OpenNTPD configuration file.

I want to change the torrent software to rtorrent, but there's a few problems with it on the Slug. The solution to the first problem doesn't work for me, and I'm using ext3.

Configuring the Mandriva firewall

Mandriva includes a firewall. To configure it, open MCC (System > Configuration > Configure your computer in the menu system).

Select Security in the Category list (left).

Select Set up a personal firewall in order to protect the computer and the network in the main pane.
