Quake III mouse not working

Hi

Running Ubuntu 5.10 with a Radeon 9600XT. I installed the ATI drivers through Synaptic following the instructions I got in the Ubuntu help file. Everything went perfectly. Installed Quake III and it ran like very nicely.

The only problem I have is the mouse doesn't work in Quake III.

Has anyone had a similar problem and a fix maybe?

Regards

hi there myfokkinnick@yahoo.i,

which pointrelease of Quake 3 (Arena I suppose) did you use or did you even use a pointrelease at all?
Supposely lots of people have experienced mouse issues with Quake 3 Arena and that's why there are several linuxq3apoint-1.32b.x86.run point releases. I've had mouse issues as well until I grabbed me all the 1.32b pointreleases.

The latest one is linuxq3apoint-1.32b-3.x86.run which you also can get from here: http://www.slackmagic.com/gaming/

It should fix many if not most of the issues you may have especially dealing with your mouse.

Good luck & happy fragging!

Hey dude!

I read about the point release mouse issue. I have a 1.32b, I thought the one I had would be the final. I'll go and download the newer version.

Thx mate

it may also be your quake3 config file that causes this problem, but just to be sure it's better to use the latest pointrelease available. So give that a try first and see if it fixes it, otherwise we can still take a look at your config file (although I haven't played quake 3 for a looong time and haven't modified any of my q3a config files for a looong time :P )
