Quake III


I have a copy of quake III for windows. Is there a linux client that I can use to install the full version?

It's really not that difficult a concept.

download the 1.32b linux client from www.quake3world.com
and insert the windows cd-rom and copy the baseq3 dir with its contents to /usr/games/quake3
Thats it..

You really only need the pak.0 file off of the CD. After copying, just type quake3 in the console!

And just so you know, if you get 1.32, your mouse won't work.

You need everything from baseq3/ dir if you're going to play q3 on the net. And don't install 1.32 install 1.32b (as i posted earlier) instead then the mouse will work..

I just needed pak0, I play on the net all the time...

Then apparenlty they have changed it recently. I have installed it plenty of times and only needed pak0. If I get it off my iwndows like I do sometimes, then I grab my config too.
