Unhappy Slow very low down/uploads with SUSE 10.0 and Asus WL-167g

I've just installed SUSE 10.0, this is my first time using Linux, but I can't seem to get any decent speed from my wireless device. Installation was easy and my device, an ASUS WL-167g wireless adaptor, was detected allowing me to download online updates. However, on my 10mb/384kb line I'm only getting download speeds varying from 512kb - 8mb (most of the time closer to 512kb) and upload speeds of no more than 3 or 4kb. I had Win XP on this machine prior to installing SUSE, and everything was working fine, at least to do with downloads/uploads using the WL-167g adaptor. The other 2 computers in the house, also on XP are functioning fine with wireless also.

Other than this, I'm very happy with SUSE so far. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
