Smile Asus Wl 167g

Hi all,

got my asus configured on my old linux laptop with ndiswrapper (driver rt2500usb). Got it working but cannot connect to the router.
Have suse 9.3 installed.
iwlist wlan0 scan gives me my network
a loopback ping 127.0.0.1 works but when i try to ping the router at 192.168.0.1 is gives me the really annoying messages :-) connect: Network is unreachable.
tried ifconfig wlan0 down and ifconfig wlan0 up
my output of dmesg looks ok
tried to confige with yast but no automatic detection.
After configuring the network still nothing.

The really hard part was to use ndiswrapper and my driver to configure the device which went ok (2days to find out!) But now I am really stuck!
Also Haven't figured out howto load ndiswrapper at boot time (ndiswrapper -m doesn't seem to work)

HELP

I've had many problems with trying to install this "easy to install" software to get the ASUS WL-167g NIC running.

Has anyone had any success on FC5 or Red Hat 9? ASUS have washed their hands of support suggesting I change the source code to fit the OS.
