Console editor in (O)Sol

Hi

When I am in runlevel 3 ( Console ), in Solaris which command do I type in bash to start a text editor...?

There is no nano, pico or ee ( from *BSD)

What is there in Solaris to allow me to make a quick fix or edit in a system configuration script...?

By the way, Solaris doesn't use runlevel that much, and in any case not the way you expect it to do.

There is no run level 4 defined. Having the graphic environment started is a configuration property, not a run level.

Please click a text file and watch ' Gedit ' open.
( The command is 'gedit' ) Is in the Menu too.

' vi ' and nano are also installed by default.

( Got a new install of 2009.6 up 2 days ago. )

ee isn't BSD specific: http://mahon.cwx.net/

Compiling it on Solaris is probably straightforward.
