Wireless USB Adapters.

I was looking for a wireless network card for my desktop and stumbled upon something called a "wireless USB adapter." It sounds like a clever idea, but I was wondering (and I did a search) if they work well with Slackware or would a wireless network pci card be a better idea?

Not sure about availability of drivers, but the following info may be helpful:

1. PCI card will run faster

2. USB will be easier to physically install (and remove if necessary)

I use slackware, and I've got an Edimax EW-7318USG usb wireless adapter, works really well. Drivers are included in the kernel.

The only problem is they stopped making this model, and introduced a new one (which at this time the kernel doesnt support, although it may some time in the future). The older model therefore is a little bit more difficult to get hold of, but it can still be found in smaller online retailers.

Most wireless USB adapters are well supported by the kernel.
