I don't think you can build pepperflash. I'm pretty sure it is extracted from Chrome, and is not included in the Chromium source. This looks like the end of newer flash versions on 32bit Linux.

Also which Vivaldi version did you last check with?
Fired up Beta 3 in winXp, checked the privacy setting, and unchecked everything as you recommended above, closed it, connected to the 'Net, fired up Vivaldi, and it tried to connect to at least 10 different sites. I lost count and patience.
The first was, Vivaldi from your computer wants to connect to,
mc.yandeu.ru(93.158.134.119) port 443.
It tried it 3 times, and then went on to the next one,
which was,
ec2-54-229-37-24.eu-west.1.cp,compute.amazonaw(54.229.37.24) port 80.
And so on, at least 10 different addresses.

PS: After March 2016 google-chrome will stop developments for linux 32 bits, but it will be available for linux 64 bits. I'm very happy with Vivaldi snapshots, it is faster and has more features than google-chrome.
Heh, that page doesn't have a single word as to what Vivaldi actually is.

Ok, I will need to ask the guys again and find out. The fact that mc.yandex.ru gets pinged is probably related to the Yandex search engine (one of the ones we include). It could as simple as us fetching a new favicon but to know I'll have to speak to one of the guys.

That did occur to me, but, IMHO, once you have set the privacy options it shouldn't be calling out for any purpose whatsoever.

Chrome-based browsers on WinXP have become nearly unuseable, since they can't establish SSL connections on a lot of webpages anymore.
Mozilla browsers like PaleMoon bypass the Windows functionality, so they still work with SSL. I use PaleMoon on an older machine here.
Trying out 32bit Vivaldi now: Even this old P4-2.66Ghz feels reasonably snappy running it despite running on nouveau on a really crappy graphics card. Firefox can't even manage to scroll the page without huge lag-spikes, and is pretty much beyond unusable.
Also, I have to give bonus points for the "scale UI" slider in the appearance settings!
I was a huge fan of the original Opera (before the company went batcrapcrazy and threw it all away), so it's probably no surprise I feel right at home with Vivaldi.
BTW, would be nice to have the choice of 'hide' for the window control placements setting (us tiling WM users don't really need 'em). Perhaps Ruari can whisper the suggestion into the right ear? ( Or even a left ear... I'm not picky! ) edit: strike that, the "use native window" option does the necessary.

+1.
Yes, I think the "follow the money" adage applies here and I would not be at all surprised to find google had something to do with it, but that is pure conjecture on my part.
I really do not believe there is anything to that at all and I have no reason to be loyal to a rival company. So perhaps this time you will believe me.

Well, perhaps, I've been around too long and seen too much skullduggery in the business world, especially the computer world, to not be cynical.
With all due respect, I would not change my opinion unless your former employer allowed me to personally go through all of their corporate records, including that second set of books.

@Slackovado
I guess ruari's post solve the problem. Maybe I've become a Vivaldi's fanboy, I don't like the new Google-chrome's page bahaviour, too much visual space wasted, why do I need a google search bar with logo if I can search using the main address space to do it?
