Restore LILO

I'm stuck. I reinstalled xp on my notebook, and naturally it replaced the MBR. Now I am trying the rescue disk option with slackware, and I gave it the parameters huge26.s root=/dev/sda6 noinitrd ro. It loads, however it tries to go into an xsession, but it is unable to start it, and all I need to do is restore lilo. DOH, but my run level is 4, not 3. Now, how the hell do I get to a command prompt, without it trying to go to runlevel 4 , just so i can restore lilo?

Solved. Sorry for the useless post. I just found my slax live cd, ran it and edited inittab that way, then got it to restore lilo. My mistake....

You could have pressed ctrl+alt+f6 at/before the GUI login (Or during your x session), even if X doesn't start.

That will get you to the cli
