I'm using it, but I'm not entirely happy.
From the observed behaviour, it looks there might be some bugs (e.g. related to disabling TPM).
But I would have to take a look at the source code to see what the deal is there.

Get rid of svgalib: it's obsolete, it doesn't work, nothing works with it. This would entail getting rid of seejpeg too, as it relies on svgalib.

I vouch for this, ssr is fantastic and i don't think i've had any issues with it since finding it at slackbuilds, whilst recordmydesktop seems to have alot of quirks with sound since the addition of pulseaudio, along with the framerate of recorded videos tending to have unpredictable spikes/lags.
