The gvfs-package includes a command to remove '*.la' files from /usr/lib, but there are no *.la files. There are two subdirs that include *.la files. Should those be removed instead or is this command obsolete?

It's generally best not to remove the .la files that aren't in a library path. They might be used to load modules with lt_dlopen() and aren't likely to infect other .la files anyway.

Not so much obsolete, more like preventative medicine.
