@USUARIONUEVO

Yet, you have ability to configure the video driver in MPlayer and to disable the hardware acceleration in Flash, IF it does not do well.

BUT, just because in some cases does not work properly, is not a must to exclude it. AND the Intel thingies have strong personalities.

BTW, NO hardware decoding for you in MPlayer, if this library is not installed. AND, "X11" output driver from MPlayer has no acceleration at all. It is the bare one.

PS. In fact, your issue is in the VAAPI, this library is just a VDPAU bridge to it, do no processing.

I only share my experience with this package in system , no good for all.

And i see now , i have accelerated video in 14.2

Quote:
glxinfo|grep -i accel
Accelerated: yes
But i need choose x11 render in media player for fullscreen.

And the positive thing is in "current" , no need nothing , no extra packages , probably other intel machines do the same , cause intel video driver is more new in current.

Logical that your OpenGL is hardware accelerated, Mr. Watson!

Unless you chose to use the software LLVM thingie, OpenGL work well in a modern Intel chipset.

BUT, the fact that your OpenGL is hardware accelerated is not the same that your MPlayer can use the hardware decoding in a H264 video.

For doing hardware decoding on a video, for MPlayer the flow is:

MPlayer -> VDPAU -> libvdpau-va-gl -> VAAPI -> Video Card <- there is decoded the video.

Because the system lacks the "libvdpau-va-gl", Mplayer will use always the CPU for video decoding.

As far as I know, glxinfo doesn't provide any information on hardware video decoding. You'd want to use vdpauinfo to find out what is supported on your system with your current software/drivers/libraries. Check out the "Decoder capabilities" output to see what is supported (I made it red to see it easily).

Code:

Makes me suggest to add fontforge to Slackware-current.

It will be nice to have atd and crond started by rc scripts. For example cronie doesn't like the -l option passed to crond.

Starting samba and openldap should be done in rc.inet2, just after rc.yp. rc.openldap placeholder could be used by nslcd. Both nslcd and winbindd should be run as early as possible to provide NSS info. For example if the active directory group "administrator" is used as cups admin group. In rc.M cups is started before samba and it fails because of non-existent group "administrator".

Also it will be nice to replace genpowerd by NUT.

Cheers

Smile lilo (legacy) nvme support

It would be nice to have nvme support for lilo in slackware. I notice didier has contributed patches for elilo etc, so attached are two patches which patch lilo and liloconfig to allow it to work with nvme drives, for those that like booting in legacy mode, or who dislike uefi :-)
It would be nice to see them in a new version of slackware.

Code:
patch -p1 < $CWD/mylilo.patch.txt
needs to be added to the lilo.Slackbuild just after the other patch.
Code:
 patch $CWD/liloconfig $CWD/myliloconfig.patch.txt
can be added at the same place, or applied before the buildscript is run.
i've done some basic testing on real hardware, and on qemu 2.11.1 virtual hardware, where with a single nvme drive and sata cdrw it "just works". for more details, see https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...12#post5824212

Hi , this is only a sugestion , cause in extra recordmydesktop are unmantained and not too versatile , i think better is switch to "ssr"

simple screen recorder , are more flexible , works with pulse , can record audio from browser etc , options to choose format video/audio.
when i say works with pulse, i refer , can choose "device" from pulse options in ssr gui ... can record internal audio + microphone at same time etc.

There is the slackbuild
https://slackbuilds.org/repository/1...sr/?search=ssr

Home project
http://www.maartenbaert.be/simplescreenrecorder/

Github
https://github.com/MaartenBaert/ssr

Probably a good other adition are "jack-audio-conection-kit"

Maybe it would be useful to add haveged to Slackware? I know anyone could just install it from SBo, but apparently it could be useful for some people during install when setting up LVM on LUKS for example. See these alpine install directions that incorporate haveged.

https://wiki.alpinelinux.org/wiki/LVM_on_LUKS

For reference the SBo build is here.
https://slackbuilds.org/repository/1...search=haveged
