I got it!

I keep forgetting I'm not stuck in winworld anymore.I know shoot me now.

I wrote my own lilo.conf with the great info you gave me. after that everything went smoothly.I added hdb13 to my main lilo.conf and all is well.

Thanks alot for all the info.

Hi,

The OP is confused about the /sbin/lilo. When you create your lilo.conf via the install or using liloconfig, you must use /sbin/lilo to write the lilo to the mbr, floppy or superblock.

The marked bootable for the partition can be used to boot that active partition. With lilo.conf you can use the 'other=' to boot a bootable partition.

man lilo gives you the options for the write of the lilo file. I like to explicit the write with the -b vs the -M. This way I know that device is being written too.
