how do you write parameters for the kernel??
i installed slack to a usb drive and was following a couple threads on the very same subject, one of the things to do is to mount the device.
i cant seem to mount it,i get cannot mount device isnt in /fstab or /mtab
or somthing like that.im using 12.1,so im wondering why it has no problem detecting the drive in set up,but not in the command line.if the guy in the thread can mount his external drive why cant i?if i write parameters for usb support will that help?how do you write those parameters,i have some parameters for usb support but im not sure of the proper syntax, for example;CONFIGURE_USB_STORAGE=m etc,how would i add those as a parameter?
before the kernel loads.i have the usb hd loaded with slack12.1 and am trying to add usb support and a initrd.gz so iam using the install disk to accomplish this but i cant mount the drive ,so i am wondering if i can get some help with this,i think if i can write parameters to the kernel before it boots, this will work?or can i use vi to add /dev/sdb1 to the fstab?any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
