I think it's better that some truths to be known by a few.
Imagine that you find out that the French Revolution was not really about "freedom, equality, brotherhood", but at its origins was the dubious revenge of a new enriched country bumpkin that lost any chance of becoming the Baron of Uphill somewhere near New Yorkshire, due to the American Revolution supported by the French aristocracy in his opinion.
That's why he paid 11 bags of gold to kill all the French aristocrats.
Would you be happy to find out that? I personally, I would be disappointed.

I'm not happy about Russia at all. I'd like to see Russia stop being a backwards-thinking theocracy ruled by a mass-murderer and move into the current century.
Ideally, yes, I see a lot to be gained by countries becoming more friendly and trade and movement being freer but I think human rights come first.
This thread was not about conspiracy theories, I think. Let's put it back on tracks, please.
Exactly that's also my idea.
@273
Was here precised to not talk about any present Presidents or politics, of any country. I should repeat you like to GMGF ? At least he the has excuse that barely speak English.

You call it a backward-thinking theocracy. Hardly surprising, given the non-stop anti-Russian propaganda churned out by the media in Britain. I consider Russia's c21st revival a return to sanity, and a model for other countries who fell for the empty promises of the Revolution. Russia, Italy, France, Ireland, Spain, Portugal -- so-called Enlightenment secularism has not left these Catholic and Orthodox countries better off now than they were 300 years ago, no matter how much the media beats it into your head that they have become beacons of progress since dispensing with Catholicism. If you disagree just try living in Ireland for a year to see for yourself how backward it has become under the self-styled liberals and progressives, how puritanical, how hostile, how narrow-minded and dogmatic.

For the record I'm not anti-Russian at all -- I'm pro-freedom. I've not kept up with Irish politics but I know that our current, idiotic, government agreed to let some pretty pathetic scumbags rule Northern Ireland for a while.
So, this isn't me being brought up with 007 and fearing "the reds" this is me being somebody for whom freedom is the most important thing feeling bad that Russia almost made it but fell into the same trap that the capitalist countries did.
To be slightly more on topic I like to travel in Europe and love how diverse cultures are in the world. That doesn't mean I'll not criticise regimes who think human rights are irrelevant -- and that includes the US and UK.

If freedom is so important then you should afford Russia the freedom to go its own way. Choices they make in their own country are theirs to make, not ours. That's freedom, after all, whether or not you like those choices.
Trying to get back on topic since this has been an interesting thread, are there any estimates about how many non English speaking Slackers there are? Since they probably wouldn't go to an English only forum.

I think that for every particular guy hanging here, there are at least 1000 not being presents, from whatever reasons. IF we exclude the Adelie penguins, of course.
