Confusion about Kernel Update...


I get up2date says i have anew kernel to use. Although when i try to use i get no luck, apperently it look slike all the files in my boot dir where updated except for the initrd file. How do i make a new one that works with the new krenel version that is the same as my old one?

The last set of x.x.x is the eqivalent to your new kernel version and it looks to /lib/modules for that version.

Basically the other x's are what the old version? Please elaborate...

OK got something new here

OK i got the jist although i get a new problem, i used a driver disk when installing originally and now i get an error like this

No module hpt37x2 found for kernel 2.4.20-24.9smp

I guess it needs the driver disk, hum lame any way i have iut but how do i add it to the new initrd?
