When installing flash, go ahead and use /usr/lib/mozillaxxx. Don't add the plugins folder on the end.

After downloading and copying to the appropriate directory, just do a double check on the permissions to see that you have execute privs.

Just for future reference...

http://theninjacow.dyndns.org:8081/u...javaflash.html

I made this guide the other day. It details how to install flash and java for Mozilla Firebird. If I missed anything, please tell me. I'm still a newbie myself. :>

Ninja Cow, can you tell me if you are using the KDE or Gnome desktop with your redhat? Flashplayer works fine for me in firebird under gnome and redhat 9. But under kde and redhat 9 it freezes mozilla and almost freezes kde and/or X. For instance the (hiding) taskbar takes ages and ages to respond. So if I have firebird in fulllscreen mode it takes a long long time to get to a terminal window and kill firebird.

I used to be an avid KDE user, but I've switched to Gnome in recent days. Also, I don't use Red Hat any longer, I use Mandrake.

I'm wondering...can you open a terminal and type "mozilla-firebird" and see if it lists an error?

I'm thinking KDE is the culprit, since Firebird runs fine in Gnome.

However, I spoke with a guy yesterday about the flash playyer for Linux, and he said the flash player itself isn't very worthy.

Have you tried installing the flash player in a different browser other than Mozilla/Firebird? (Just as a test.)
