/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins not valid install path for macromedia flash player 7?

hi im trying to install the macromedia flash player 7 in firefox on fedora core 3 and a tutorial suggest /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins and im at the step that says to enter install path and i enter /usr/lib/moz... but it says WARNING: Please enter a valid installation path. I got the tar.gz file with the installer from macromedia's website. has anyone else run into this? thanks for any replies in advanced.

sorry for posting i solved it myself. I just copied the files myself to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins and it works. So if anyone else is in this situation just copy these to files from the untarred and unzipped file. (with no browser windows open)

libflashplayer.so
flashplayer.xpt

i'll let macromedia know the script didn't work for me if they have a bug reporting system. hoped this helps someone else.

Thumbs up

I just wanted to say thanx for posting that bug-fix!

I had the exact same problem in Fedora 4, I followed your instructions, and now flash is working just fine for me in Firefox.

Thanx!

Jeff
