I have searched and searched for an answer and I'm still lost. I have a HCF PCI Conexant modem installed with the 2.6.3-7 Linuxant driver. Hardrake finds the modem as well as config tool and kppp. I can set up the modem in kppp with the modem at dev/ttySHCF0 (manually entered) and the modem will randomly connect to my ISP, but not allow traffic beyond the ISP. When I attempt to configure the connection with the configuration center it shows my modem--and the manual selection choices, but manual does not offer dev/ttySHCF0. Automatic selection does not connect. Kppp continually errors with "modem is busy" even after selecting a different location such as dev/ttys2. My modem is configured on COM3 in WinblowsXP. Is there any setup documentation for mandrake and Conexant modems? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Have you installed the drivers(ie in caes of linmodem)

I have successfully installed the 2.6.3-7 Linuxant driver and verified the modem with hcfpciconfig –info. The modem can be manually configured in kppp, but will at random report that the modem is busy. When it does connect there is no browsing beyond the ISP. I have an Ethernet card installed but have executed ifconfig eth0 down. I cannot configure the modem with the configuration center.
