Cage,

I also find some of Mr Kewpies responses somewhat terse or, shall we say, abrupt; but I've yet to see him being deliberately rude to anyone. Don't be so thin skinned man.

Some people are just like that, particularly clever people (and we'll give him the benefit of the doubt on that one ), you're going to be one very unhappy chappy for the rest of your life if you let little things like that get to you.

Wouldn't life be boring if we were all P.C. to each other all the time like the Americans?

Pleeease don't. You'll only encourage him. Or them. We all know acid_kewpie is actually an alias for the CS department at Warwick Uni.

Why would anyone use a post made 5 years ago to justify an "article" about Linux take up now? Is this person trying to say that the technology and take up is poor because of Acid_Kewpie? In which case, the only thing holding Linux back is the fact that Acid doesn't post on Windows or Mac forums, surely? (whoops, hang on, my straw man fell over in the high wind)

Seriously, if that excuse to post a picture of a topless, yet tastefully painted, woman is your whole evidence (that and this 6 year old thread) you are seriously not looking hard enough. That is, unless your reason for dredging up this thread was so that you could attack a mod and drive traffic to your site.

And, FWIW, the post referred to in that poor article was entirely correct. There is no objective "best". The "best" distro is the one that does what you want and that you are comfortable using.

Wow, a time machine. I'm back in 2003. Note to self, change all 401k to stable money market fund in September 2007...

I'm closing this extremely old thread for what I hope are obvious reasons. 266267, if you'd like to continue to post at LQ please contact me.
