this site is not suitable for discussion of things like terrorism and such. wether it starts as a joke or not, it WILL snowball.
i don't believe in pm's. if it can't be on an open forum, it can't be said.

what was the point of closing the thread? snowballed? why do i get the feeling that you closed it just because you could?

Erm, if a mod shuts a thread, shuddup and leave it at that. They can do it, you can only whine and look bad...

Btw, snowball as in a small snowball rolling down a hill grows... not some funky compressed archive or anything

Thats not true Proud. This forum is an open one and most things are up for discussion. mods don't ever just close a thread because they can. I have to agree with Chris - terrorism is just not a subject I would like here (and I am pretty open about these things). If you have any other questions/concerns feel free to post them.

I didnt mean that they just do it because they can, but that they've been given that power because they're trusted to use it correctly. And as the topic of terrorism isn't wanted here, complaining about threads about it being closed wont get anywhere, because everyone agrees it isn't needed here.

I didn't find it too appealing discussing what piss tastes like either, I would have closed it myself just for that reason.

My small two cents...

Terrorism is a fine topic however before long you have people that are loitering. If you regularly contribute Linux answers and you feel like talking about terrorism or some other offtopic than that should be okay, but if you don't contribute to linux related discussions than closing your thread should help wake you up.

Darin, you and your cryptic underground computers

As for Chris, why would anyone directly attack him? First off, he mods the oddest forum on LQ: General. In the other forums, if a discussion is about tasting piss, it's pretty easily known why it is locked. I believe it takes someone with Chris's sense of moral judgement, along with his strict mindset to mod a forum like this.

If anything, be happy he closed it and return to either a more meaningful thread in another forum, or participate in a more light hearted discussion on Dolphins or something.

Cool

Its alright Trick, in the same thread I was talking about Vulcan mating habits alright, we all have our over-caffinated, under-sensed moments.

Cheers,
