linux on dell inspiron XPS

Hi All

I recently installed mandrake 10.1 on
the dell inspiron XPS laptop

it has a pentium 4 3.4Gh HT

the chipset is an Intel 865PE
no idea about the fan and sensors

soon after running some calculations
the fan is fully running

and there is an alert message showing :

Message from syslogd@localhost at Sun Dec 26 23:15:09 2004 ...
localhost kernel: CPU1: Temperature above threshold

Message from syslogd@localhost at Sun Dec 26 23:15:09 2004 ...
localhost kernel: CPU0: Temperature above threshold

Message from syslogd@localhost at Sun Dec 26 23:15:09 2004 ...
localhost kernel: CPU1: Running in modulated clock mode

Message from syslogd@localhost at Sun Dec 26 23:15:09 2004 ...
localhost kernel: CPU0: Running in modulated clock mode

after killing the job (calculations)
the fan is slowing down

can you tell me what to do ??
i tried to install lm_sensors but it doesn t find the chip or the fan
actually it doesn t find anything

help will be a lot appreciated

merci
