Help.. Problem with enabling Intel 3945 wireless card on Dell D520

Hey all;

I am trying to get the wireless connection on my Fedora Core 6 up and running.

I installed those four packages: dkms-ipw3945, ipw3945d, ipw3945-firmware and kernel-devel. I restarted the computer, but still didn't work.

When i typed "iwconfig", it shows "no wireless extension".
When i typed "modprobe ipw3945; ipw3945d", it shows"Error: Could no find Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection."

I'm not sure what to do now.

Welcome to LQ!

After you've run modprobe ipw3945, do you see that module in the output of lsmod? Also check the output of dmesg and your log files (/var/log/syslog and /var/log/messages) and see if there are any more errors.
