I plan on using MythTV in the future for PVR stuff, but I figure I might as well make sure XawTV is working right considering they all run off of the bttv. I'm a Linux newb so bare with me.

I have a Pinnacle PCTV card (bt878). I use DRAKXTV to configure it. I set it to automatically detect because everything else doesn't work. I even tried that little program ftvco. Ok so scantv runs and picks up only about 10 channels out of 100. Whats odd is that it picks up my movie channels (14 and 96) but has trouble grabbing normal channels like (8-12). Channels 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 14, and 96 comein crystal clear.

Any ideas?

I've tried that too. I think it has to do with the tuner the software selects for it. Does anyone know what tuner to choose for this card?

Try adding the cable option when running the xawtv scan tool. For example, I'm in the US so I used US-cable.
