xawtv and channels

I've installed xawtv and wondering why it can't find for instance MTV Germany and other channels. Also I seem to be unable to locate the channel file maybe for some manual adoption.

scantv scans for channel. Neither the manpage nor anything states though where the results are saved to. The only way I can think of right now is to run strace on it to check for something ... anybody has a better idea? :-)

Or even better: knows how to fix the channel problem? I've chosen western europe and PAL as norm type. I'm living in germany ...
