how to scan channels in xawtv and motv ?
I have installed xawtv (version 3.94). I started motv but didn't know how to scan the channels first. According to the manpage, under the Options menu, there should be Channels (scan) item. But I cannot find it. Where did it go ?
Can anybody tell me how to scan channels now in this version of xawtv ?
Thanks

Use the scantv package that you should have installed as well.

It is still in the original tarball for 3.94 on the website. Maybe it is like in my distribution Debian and it is a separate package like I first suggested you install. How did you install anyways and what distro are you running?

Thats weird it looks like you have near everything but the scantv it should have been built when you compiled. Did you see anything about it when your issued the ./configure, make and make install? One more thing in the README in the tarball it says you can make a .rpm by using the command rpm -ta xawtv-3.94.tar.gz on the tarball and then install so you may want to try that to see how it works out.

After I changed tuner=39 in /etc/modules.conf, everything is working now
alias char-major-81 bttv
options bttv card=10 tuner=39
I don't even need to scan the channel. It seems there is a channels-frequency mapping hard coded somewhere. Maybe it is a config file somewhere.
Both xawtv and tvtime are working fine.
