VLC to play WMV help.

How can i get vlc (0.8.6b) to play wmv files.
I've got suse 10.2 on my desktop and 10.1 on my laptop.

On 10.1 it plays, no problem.
On 10.2 it doesnt.

i cant figure what i did on 10.1 that i didnt do on 10.2.
It plays .avi's fine.

Can someone maybe steer me in the right direction

I have the same version and it plays wmv without a problem so clearly it's not a bug. It seems more likely you are missing one or more codecs. ffmpeg?
