Screenshot of GDM

Hey guys

here goes a dumb question:

how can i take a screenshot of the gdm ?

i've read articles on using Xnest but I get the feeling that's to get a screenshot of another machine (not the one where you're running the command from)

is there any way i could get a screenshot of my gdm on my machine ?

thanks in advance.

I don't know what type of commands you have available in RedHat, but you could always use Gimp. File/Import/Screenshot.

Just noticed you're from A2! I lived there for 10 years. Killer city.

Does Alt+PrintScreen not work? Do that and then paste the result into The Gimp or wherever.

Hey thanks to all of you guys.

I tried all that but it didn't work. And, like nexx_au said, i meant a screenshot of the gdm.

I'll keep on looking for a solution but if anyone founds out, let me know please!

thanks!

if you run gdmconfig I think it shows a small screenshot of each of your installed themes.

the themes are located in /usr/share/gdm/themes/

gdmflexiserver --xnest will give you a windowed login for your box... then just acquire through gimp... Should work like a charm...
