Recommended upgrade for Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.5

Hi,

We have a few servers running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.5 (Santiago), Linux 2.6.32-431.23.3.el6.x86_64 x86_64 & Linux 2.6.32-431.el6.x86_64 x86_64. I would like to know what is the recommended OS and kernel upgrade for these versions. And how can I do that without internet connection?

Thank you in advance.

You can install any other enterprise linux distro (like Suse Enterprise Server).
You can download Centos 7 from the internet (it is like Red Hat Enterprise Server).

contact redhat and buy a satellite contract
then have the tech rep walk you through a off line upgrade to RHEL 6.7

you must buy the REQUIRED support contract to install software on RHEL

I was wondering whether or not the OP wants alternative "free" recommendations, of which CentOS is probably most apt, versus a recommendation as to how to proceed with RHEL upgrades.

I guess you have to consider where you're going with this kulcatz. If continuing with RHEL, then you may or may not already have a contract with RedHat. And then contact them to get an upgrade, 6.5 is a couple of years old, but not so very and they're really only up to 6.7 on that major branch. This makes me half suspect that you may have a current contract, or one not so very far out of date.

And free, is free for "obtaining" but also only supported via community or web searching. If that's important to the installation you have then you need to consider this factor.
