That seem odd... modems

anyways you can:
1. open the modems with a terminal program, and set it up to wait for calls. Then remote user use his terminal program to send you files.
2. setup pppd and ...? - I forgot the program name I used in an ISP a long time ago. IIRC it's name started with "p".

Though if your modems are soft/win modems, it will be harder or even impossible.

Unfortunately it's not that easy, though chances are good for the COM port modem to work out.

Look at http://tldp.org/HOWTO/PPP-HOWTO/ and I think there should be all/most information you would need.

Just gave a quick look into the TOC of the howto. You can skip compiling anything (kernel, pppd) and use whatever comes with your distribution. I doubt you need custom compilations for a simple use case.

Try "Team Viewer".

Hi Bagra,
This link might help although I haven't used it on Linux yet. It is free for non commercial use.
http://www.teamviewer.com/en/download/index.aspx
It seems to be the best of the 30 odd available.
