quake3 couldn't start on SUSE 9.1

hi, I have just installed a demo version of quake 3 on my my computer which is -

intel 933 MHz
82810E Vesta MainBoard
128 MB SD RAM
4 MB onboard VGA

The windows version works very good. But it is not working on SUSE 9.1 Personal which I have installed 3 days back. I am getting the following error when I type q3demo on the konsole.

/**********************

Can anyone tell me what I need to make it work? I hope many people might have faced the same problems. Thanks in advance.

Alright guys, no suggestions from anyone yet. Maybe I have got close to the solution myself. Here's what I did.

Manish:~ # cd /usr/lib

Manish:/usr/lib # ls -l libGL*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Mar 17 19:15 libGL.so.1 -> libGL.so.1.2
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 634422 Apr 6 2004 libGL.so.1.2
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Mar 17 19:15 libGLU.so.1 -> libGLU.so.1.3
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 571679 Apr 6 2004 libGLU.so.1.3
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 4241 Apr 6 2004 libGLcore.so.1

Manish:/usr/lib # ln -s libGL.so.1.2 libGL.so

Manish:/usr/lib # q3demo

Now the game starts fine. Loads everything without errors nui as i enter the game, it becomes a mess. Each and every graphic looks messy, no sound. The same thing had happened when I tried quake3 on Fedora Core 1. Any suggestions now?
