quake3 on suse 9.1 - pak0.pk3 vs. default.cfg

i tried to run the quake3-version i used to have in windows on my new system. i get an error-message saying that the default.cfg is missing, google found this, but i do have the pak0.pk3 (it's empty, though). can anyone give a short hint on how i shall proceed?

i also have a problem running my absolute favourite game 1nsane, no idea why, since the loading picture covers the error message.

best regards
ungua

edit: now it shows a content for the pk3-file, the default.cfg contains:

edit 2: (sorry for slowly adding information...) the error-message after starting sounds as following:

what does this place y:\ mean?? somebody told me i could run quake without problems in linux, like everything else, it's not free for problems... it seems to me
