Smile Print Server/File..Chooser Question

Hello All,

I'm curious if this is a possible setup and if so, I'm not sure what the correct terminology would be to find the software.

I'm interested in building a print server of sorts, but I only call it that because I'm not sure how to define this. I want to allow students(this is at a school), to choose from a list of approve files on a GUI, to print. I teaching band in a high school and as such, we make many copies of sheet music. As time goes by, music of course needs recopied, or documents for various events. I'm not looking for a job controller/release, but the same type touch screen interface would work, as long as I could choose the files that they would be allowed to print at will.

Is this a thing that exists? The less they have to deal with the OS(open a manager, find the file, open the file, print the file), the better. The goal is that they could walk up, tap the file they need, and it prints.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Ryan

There are many ways.

My suggestion is a simple web page. Check boxes could be used to select the music and then a button to print. A dedicated PC could be configured as a kiosk if you want something really easy for the students.
