I am planning to buy an external hard-disk to store the various Movies/Music/Photographs/Comics I have.
I searched Google for a suitable Linux Distro and found : Dynebolic
and Ubuntu Studio
The Distro I install for the above purpose should have following thingy s working out of box (I don't want *any* dependence on internet) :
1. Fine tuned iTunes replacement software.
2. Media player supporting all sorts of codecs with an equalizer which contains settings to be chosen from.
3. Best photo viewing/sorting software.
4. Best but not slow Pdf viewer. (Adobe is the best but it is really slow)
and also .chm reader and .djvu reader.
I am not some DJ/VJ ! so I wonder whether I should go with any of the above Distros or with some normal Distro ?

1. No idea.
2. VLC or Mplayer? Don't know about the graphic equalizer though.
3. Digikam (think it's KDE only? Don't know what DE/WM you're using).
4. I'm happy with Okular, again a KDE only thing.

My vote goes to linux Mint
1. Amarok/rythmbox
2. Codec support out of box (mp3,dvd,etc) and amarok has an equilizer (pretty sure rythmbox does as well)
3. Not sure what all it comes with but i know it has a few
4. Pretty sure it comes with a pdf viewer (Correct me if i am wrong)
Ran the Live cd a couple weeks ago and was able to play/view without connecting to the internet. It also has a few different Desktops to choose from
3. Best photo viewing/sorting software.
4. Best but not slow Pdf viewer. (Adobe is the best but it is really slow)
and also .chm reader and .djvu reader.
How should anybody know which is the best photo-viewer and pdf-viewer? I think this is highly dependant on personal preferences.

1. I hate iTunes, it's pure garbage, not sure if any replacement exists.
2. mplayer is the best I've found, I don't think there's anything you can't run or do with it. I wouldn't use a computer if mplayer wasn't installed. There is an equalizer that can be set, see '-af equalizer=' if you use command line.
4. Adobe is the best ? Since when ? I use xpdf, very fast, all that I need. For djvu just the standard viewer djview, I think the newest needs qt4. For chm I just extract them with chmlib and view them in FF.
As for the dependence on the internet ... I'm sorry to break it to you, but you are dependent on the internet whether you like it or not. I'm sure Debian may please you, because it has tons of software available on the install disks. As for other distros, check distrowatch.

How will you update your system then?

IMO any pdf viewer which has all the necessary basic features and works fast can be considered a good pdf viewer. e.g. Adobe has got a feature which allows you to go back and forth to the next view and previous view page. I couldn't find that in evince. This may not be important for anyone else here, but in my case it is important because I prefer softcopies of all books/reading material I have rather than hardcopies.
and I won't update my system through the updater software, but instead if some new and durable version of any software I use gets launched, I'll manually download and install its RPM/tar/DEB.

I was thinking of gtkpod. I am not sure if something better exists. I have heard that Amarok can also be used for the same purpose, but I couldn't make it work.
I have decided to go with Linux-Mint Fluxbox. I have some questions regarding its repositories and configuration which I'll post in a dedicated thread.
I would also like to have some suggestions on:
1. Best CD/DVD music ripping software.
2. Best software for data synchronization.
