pilot syncing

I have a visor and I am trying to sync it with linux. I have the /dev/pilot linked to /dev/ttyUSB0. I have used coldsync and pilot-xfer and they work, but I cannot get kpilot, jpilot, or gnome pilot to snyc with it. Any ideas?

Hmmm....I got j-pilot [jpilot.org] to work with some difficulty in the beginning. I can walk you through that installation somewhat:

You need gtk2. Make sure you compile and install this. you will also need pilot-link. These are all linked on the web site under "Requirements".

Once you install those, jpilot should be *fairly* easy to install.

this is generally the message I get when trying to sync with jpilot.

pi_accept: Connection timed out
pi_accept Illegal seek
Exiting with status SYNC_ERROR_PI_ACCEPT
Finished
