Mozilla cannot go to mail.yahoo.com????

Hello all,

for some reason, my mozilla browser 1.0.1, can navigate normally, but when I try to go to mail.yahoo.com it will just hang or not do anything????

I tried it with Konqueror and I had no problems??? I tried pinging it and no probs so I would say the problem is within the browser itself...

Any thoughts? How could I troubleshoot this?

I think your first job should be to upgrade Mozilla - current version is 1.6. It could be that your browser can't handle something that Yahoo is dishing up.

i'm also having problems with yahoo mail, but since upgrading to moz 1.6. i'll get "recycled" to the login screen after entering my password. i tried reinstalling in case mozilla got corrupted, but it didn't work. i haven't found a solution yet.

cookies are enabled. i also cleared the history and the cache, still no luck. other yahoo services work, it just seems to be something to do with their mail.

They may be having server trouble...I couldn't log in several days ago, but after a bit it was cleared up. I just checked with FetchYahoo, though, and it seems to be working fine...so, sorry I don't know what's up

I have the opposite problem. Konqueror bad, Mozilla good. Konqueror gave an error about the protocol htttps not being supported.

I went ahead with a bit more extreme maneuver, which was to erase my whole .mozilla dir in your home dir and that was it. Yahoo works again :-0

DO NOT DO THIS (without backing it up) if you don't want to loose your bookmarks, proxy settings etc.

This is really sad....

So the problem got fixed, by either replace de .mozilla or by the other solution proposed earlier in this thread which was to create another user...but guess what?

After going to yahoo a couple of times...the same problem comes back again. I really enjoyed some of the Yahoo services....but it is just too much of a pain in the azz...and I don't get this problem with any other site....

so just one thing left to say...

Adieu Yahoo!
