Transferring Mozilla from win / Mozilla Mail filters?

Hi all.

I've installed Mandrake a couple of weeks ago and been messing with it since then. What i'm trying to do is get my Mozilla Mail Filters over to linux from windows. All my other settings came through fine - bookmarks, preferences, website-passwords, but for whatever reason filters just won't come through. I'm not even sure which file Mozilla stores filters in.

Found this: but that seems to be absolete because none of those filter files even exist under windows profile folder.

Has anyone came across this issue before or can shine any light on the dilema? I'm using ver. 1.6a under linux and I believe it was 1.6b under windows

Thank You

maybe i'm a bit too late for this, but i ran into the same problem right now and couldn't find any good help on that issue...

unfortunately mozilla stores all mail paths as absolute paths in prefs.js.
depending on the settings for your mail account(s) - imap or pop - this can pretty much mess up your whole account structure.

in my case it seems that for some reason mozilla automatically created new mail directories in ~/.mozilla/[Profile]/Mail and ~/.mozilla/[Profile]/ImapMail

therefore the above mentioned paths where not the ones where my messagefilters were stored (The file actually is: msgFilterRules.dat, rules.dat is obsolete)

make sure that the concerning paths in your prefs.js point to the directory where your msgfilterRules.dat is located. -> close all mozilla-apps and edit your prefs.js manually.

btw. since i use multiple mail-accounts i seemed to have some empty msgfilterRules.dat files spread around in several mail directories... so search through your "Mail" and "ImapMail" directories to find the one actually containing the filter rules.
