Konqueror and cookies

All of a sudden, with no changes made to the OS or the browser, I can't access sites with cookies as it's saying that I am not allowing them. So I clicked on settings -> Configure Konqueror -> and when I click on cookies it gives me the following error.
Quote:
unable to start cookie handler service
Does anyone have any ideas on this, any help would be greatly appreciated as Konqueror is my browser of choice. Thanks again, Nick

I think it may be a bigger issue. KDE crashed earlier today for no apparent reason, and now I can't connect with Kopete either even after multiple restarts.

Running Mandriva 2006 and K.D.E 3.4

so it gets a little wierder (not a word ). I ended the session rather than rebooting, and logged back in. This time, everything works again, but when I was rebooting it wasn't working. No idea, but I'm able to use Konqueror again

If it happens again you need to be checking if the kded daemon is running. The cookie thing usually happens to me every time it gets updated.
