CUPS and #application/octet-stream

Hi All,

n00b here. I've been googling this one for a while and haven't come up with any solution.

Bascially, I'm running CUPS on an FC3 and in order for to print have UNcommented the Raw Print File Support section:

#application/octet-stream

becomes

application/octet-stream

I save and exit the file using vi, restart cups and can print.

.....a while later I go to print again and find that the file has recommented itself!

#application/octet-stream

So far, I am unable to explain what's going on. I've tried chmoding the file to 755 and still that didnt help.

Is there something in the cupsd.conf that I should be editing? Where am I going wrong?

Hello.

I solved the problem by adding the following line to the smb.conf file.

cups options = "raw"
