application/octet-stream

hi..
after getting the KDE window on my mandrake10.0 system the first thing i see is the following error msg:
"could not find mime type application/octet-stream"
what is it? & how to correct it?

I have the same problem with Fedora core 3 and KDE.

Found a possible solution, but i don know how the exactly doing that.

Hello again,

I solved the problem by deleting the following file.
“ ~/.kde/share/mimelnk/application/octet-stream.desktop”

To find the file switch in konqueror to show hidden files in the ¨view¨ menu.
