Channel 6 Not Working With TV Card

I just got my new ATI TV Wonder VE and was surprised at how easy it was to get working with linux. However, I am having a big problem. No matter what TV viewing app I use (tvtime, xawtv, aatv, etc), channel 6 is not really channel 6. When I tune to channel 6, it displays some unknown infomercial channel. This definately isn't right because on the rest of the TVs in my house, channel 6 is KASW (WB).

Pleeease help...I need my Simpsons!!

System Specs:

Cpu: P4 2.6c
Ram: 768mb
OS: Ubuntu Linux
Kernel: 2.6.8
Video: GeForce FX5200
TV Card: ATI TV Wonder VE

NTSC
US-Cable

Thanks in advance!
Brandon

Isn't that odd, what part of the planet are you on? In xawtv, can you adjust your frequencies? Do you recognize what channel it is actually displaying? Check out yahoo's TV Guide or DataDirect's service to see what they say, sometimes you can check out a rebuild, which, I have no idea what it means, but it displays the channels differently (happened to me just as you described).

Cool

Hi MasterC..thanks for the reply..

I'm in the US, Arizona to be exact.

I'm pretty sure there is a way to adjust the frequencies...though I'm not sure how. Even then, I'm not sure how I would find the real frequency of channel 6. I'll look into it.

At one point I saw in the background "Cox Cable Channel 22" (Cox is my cable provider). I went to channel 22, and a different show was on than what was on channel 6. I've checked TvGuide and channel 22 is "Leased Access" all day, every day.

Never heard of that...I'll definately check it out though.

Thank you very much!
