Linksys Wireless Card not working in RH9 - Channel out of range

Hey all,

I've tried modifying the config for my wireless card a number of times, however, I just end up getting one of many error messages.

The most common is Channel (0) not in range. Other times I'll get mode errors or channel errors, but that is when I am screwing around trying to auto detect, which fails miserably. I can't get by the not in range error, and am only able to get onto a network by actually plugging a cable into the ethernet port.

FYI,
I'm using a Linksys WPC11 ver3
RH9
Linksys Wireless Router at Home
A variety of others at school - but I'll work on those once I get the home one working.

I'll post files, just tell me what you want to see, or let me know what else I might try.

Thanks,

Ed

What have you done so far?

give us the output from these cmd's:

Code:
/sbin/cardctl ident
Code:
/sbin/lsmod
if you boot right into GUI
Code:
$ cd /etc/rc.d/rc5.d
$ ls
or if you boot to a command line
Code:
$ cd /etc/rc.d/rc3.d
$ ls
that should be a good start to figure out whats happening

Got it working

Col Panic,

Thanks for the help, but I found a site at linux.oldcrank.com that was dedicated to the WPC11 and I got the card working.

Thanks,

Ed
