VPS Setup: CentOS 6 with Virtualmin
Hello everyone,
I have recently purchased an unmanaged VPS and would like to run Virtualmin and CentOS 6.
I have actually already installed Virtual and a few other packages, however I seem to have screwed it up a bit, so I have requested an OS resinstallion so that I can confirm everything before I do anything...
So, once the reinstallation is complete, I'd like to setup the following things:
1) Webmin and Virtualmin (via the Virtualmin automatic installation script)
2) Zabbix for server monitoring
3) PHP APC
I'd also like to make sure the server is secure and updated.
...then...
My knowledge of DNS isn't great at all.
The South African domain name registrar (there is only one), Uniforum, is completely backward and requires an email ticket to be submitted for domain register/updates/etc.
They require two nameservers to be specified for a domain.
The VPS I have currently only has one IP address... I need to know what my options are regarding DNS setup. Is the best solution just to pay for another IP address connecting to the same instance of BIND to keep the registar happy?
What about secondary DNS solutions like BuddyDNS/Zoneedit/etc? Are these solutions automatic, as in, do they automatically update from the master, or would I need to manually add domain names in their control panels?
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
Chris
