xmms under gnome

hey guys just a quick question iv installed xmms on rh9 under kde with the pluggin for redhat and it works fine but now i have gnome set up and run xmms it opens but it doesnt do anything when i try and play the mp3 ???

running rh9 under gnome 2.4.20-27.9

so xmms opens? can you get to its menus? you select a file to play - does it even show that on the display?
I'd like to help but i'm unclear as to what exactly is happening. uninstalling it and reinstalling it is a quick option that might help you.

right sorry (just woke up)

i can load xmms up and everything is functional as in menues and prefrences but it just wont play the mp3 files selected in the playlist but yet it KDE there is no trouble at all
