where is startup sound of linux


hi there.

can anyone tell me from where to change startup sound of slackware.
like in windows we change it from ctr-panel>audio.

what desktop environment are you using? KDE has startup sound...probaby GNOME has it too but I haven't used it so I wouldn't know or care to look for it. Frankly I kinda think that the startup sound thing is lame and annoying at best.

hi tuxrules,

i m using kde environment of slackware.
moreover i find startup sound of slackware bit annoying and that the reason i want to change it

You can check out the control center in KDE...I hardly use KDE so I won't be able to give you an exact answer. I'm mostly a GNOME guy

it worked.
thanks a lot!!!

i was able to change startup sound from control center.
but now i m wondering where this file is saved in slackware.
