Your system misses the C++ compiler. Look for the gcc-c++ package and after installing it run ./configure again.

What does config.log show? Should be in the same directory you are compiling from.

Don't configure and make as root, do it as your user. So it should be:
Code:
$ ./configure
$ make
$ su
<enter your root password>
# make install
# exit
$
In the above example '$' indicates that you are doing the commands as the user and '#' indicates running as root. There are other, additional, steps you can run but that is the basic and has been unchanged for several years.

As to the "no"s you see in the output, don't worry about them if it's successful. All that means is that the config script is looking for options to include if they are present. Since they aren't present, it doesn't include them.

The errors in post # 5 : May be you are using 'gcc-4.3 / g++-4.3 ?
'ksmoothdock-4.5' is from year 2006, gcc-4.1 / g++-4.1 will work OK.
# yum install compat-gcc-34-c++' will provide version 3.4.6 ,
EDIT : .... and 'make CXX=g++34' .... will work on Fedora 9 and 10.

But you will probably not be able to use 'ksmoothdock' on KDE 4.x .
http://ksmoothdock.sourceforge.net/
You are aware that the app is compiled with qt3 and kde-3.5.x ?
And not quite stable ?
......

make install

i make this

./configure

and thats the results

Code:

Did you actually read the error message? You need the Qt packages, but for version 3.x of Qt. I think KDE 4 uses Qt 4, but I'm not sure. Check whether Fedora provides Qt 3.x packages and install them.

Please do a little research instead of just asking us each time your build fails.

You need to install the kde3 devel packages.

Try to install kdelibs-devel for KDE 4.2.1 too. You haven't installed some KDE4 package yet, please make sure that all KDE packages for your distro are installed or you'll have other problems. Bye and good Sunday.
