I cant seemt o remove Xawtv:

[root@localhost adam]# rpm xawtv -evv

[root@localhost adam]#

It was installed (when I installed RH Linux)) but I didnt realise this, so I downloaded it from the net and went to install it not realising it was already there. After I realised I un installed it but when I type xawtv at the command line it still runs...???? I am assuming that at least some of the program is still there. This has been causing LOTs of problems trying to configure it!

Any ideas?

hi

you need to be the root user to install packages and uninstall them. if you are already the root check if there are stray rpm processes running in the system using

ps aux | grep rpm

and if not you might have encountered a rpm bug with redh 8 and 9

check rpm.org for a fix

Hey thanks but I tried apt-get install xawtv and it seems to have downloaded a version off the net and installed it I now have scantv but cant find anything

any ideas?
