Problems with Installing Kubuntu on external HD

Hi. I am a total Linux noob. I need help installing Kubuntu on an External HD. I tried it once, but I was confused when I got to the disc select screen. I didn't know what to select as the disk format. Anyway, I totally hosed my Mac. Can someone please help me?

Okay, It probably said something like /dev/hda1 or /dev/hdb1 or something of the sort, find out which one is the external one by look ing at it's size and then select to partition that drive and install... post further question here.

Okay. It gets almost all the way through the installation, but it fails to install the yaboot. Why is this and how can I fix it?

What do you mean by yaboot? Lilo, Grub or something else?

yaboot is the bootloader for the PPC arch

Is it giving you any errors when it tries to install?
