problem while booting the system


Hello all,

I have activated modem using the network device configuration.While booting it is not able to detect ppp0.I am getting something like
Bringing up ppp0 interface:
and its stopping there.I feel i have done some mistake while configuring the network device.Please tell me what should i do to boot my system properly.

that message may be from slackware, but with only 1 post, who knows.

pls tell us the distro you are using....and how it was installed....eg used live cd...used network install....

2) assuming you have come from MS....describe your modem....eg make model and how it connects....to com port etc.....is it onboard?

What distribution? Hardware information? We need more information to help diagnose the problem. Post the messages printed to the screen?
