Linux on a Windows LAN

My current home LAN is all Windows, I intend to slot in a Linux based firewall machine soon, my question is how will this look from the other Windows machines ?

Can I drag and drop files between Windows and the Linux box etc ?

If you set it up properly the windows clients won't even notice a difference. And if you setup samba on the linux computer then you can do the drag and drop thingy which you are used to doing in windows.
